Firm History John A. Anderson, P.C. (a Texas Professional Corporation), is the successor to the sole proprietorship, John A. Anderson, CPA. Mr. Anderson began his career with the firm of Winkelman, Davies & Bache in Houston, forming his own practice, John A. Anderson, CPA, in 1952. Mr. Anderson's clients were typically manufacturers, lumber yards, steel suppliers, oil and gas operators, and home and commercial builders - the people who built Houston. John A. Anderson, Jr. joined the firm after graduation in 1975 from the University of Texas at Austin, and became a shareholder of the newly organized firm of John A. Anderson & Co., P.C. in 1985. The Firm's client base expanded with the addition of speciality businesses in the highway construction industry. John A. Anderson, Sr. died on January 6, 1990, at which time John A. Anderson, Jr. became the sole owner of the Firm. The Firm's name was changed to John A. Anderson, P.C. in 1992. The Firm continues to serve clients' financial reporting needs in a variety of industries, including the lumber, oil & gas, construction businesses, nursing homes, employee benefit plans such as 401(k), as well as performing tax compliance and reporting for individuals, corporations, general partnerships, limited liability companies, estates, trusts, and limited partnerships. The Firm moved from the River Oaks area of Houston in 1991 to the current location in the Mellie Esperson Building at 815 Walker Street in downtown Houston in order to be more centrally located and have better access to more support services.
